You have got to clean up the idle first. Your idle takes you to about 2500 rpm before the main jets really take over. Cruising at below 2000 is on the idle circuit. I know I will get hassels here but I run with a PM-1 wide band oxygen sensor and I find you have to clean up the idle first before you can go to the jets.

Just because there is a change in ambient air temp doesn't always mean there is the same change in the air entering the carb. This will depend on whether the carb is getting underhood air or air through a scoop or cowl, etc.
