Now resting in peace at last, this basic variant of the OT-62 TOPAS has retired to the pastoral Benesov District of the Czech Republic's Central Bohemian Region. WebOT-62 / TOPAS is a joint Czechoslovak and Polish modified version of the BTR-50PK. It had a more powerful PV-6 engine, developing 300 hp, as well as some other improvements. These armored vehicles were jointly produced in Czechoslovakia and Poland in relarively large numbers and were exported to some countries. Type 77 is a Chinese copy.
